Michael McPherson - Bio

"Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe."

       I spent my youth in rural central Illinois where I enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and riding bicycles.  Although I played trumpet for a few years in the school orchestra, I would eventually transition to the guitar. On graduating high school , I enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in 1980 and relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area.
       While in High School, I developed a love for motorcycling after purchasing a used Honda. While in the Marines, and afterwards, and several motorcycles later, I made a number of cross country motorcycle trips developing a passion for seeing the country from the seat of a bike.  And, as any self-respecting biker will attest, I eventually transitioning to Harley Davidson motorcycles.
       During the 1980s, I immersed myself in the local music scene playing guitar in several local bands. We played both original hard rock music as well as rock standards. As an opening artist for various bands such as Pat Travers, Stryper, Mamas Boys, and Patrick Simmons, I was fortunate to be exposed to an abundance of talent and music styles. With the entrance of the 1990s, I relocated to Arkansas and found my love for Christian music.  I am able to bring my love of Rock music to the Christian genre.  This creates a great Rock edge to contemporary Christian music. For a time I relocated to Arlington Texas, and eventually landed in Hot Springs Arkansas where I teamed up with Renewed!
